Every weekend during the past couple of years, a particular lake in Michigan has become the stage for a unique and humorous spectacle: the Floating Dollar General. This pontoon boat, cleverly disguised as a Dollar General store, has been a source of amusement and delight for locals and visitors alike.

The Floating Dollar General features a brown and yellow awning with the iconic "DOLLAR GENERAL" text in bold, yellow letters with a black border. Below the awning, various signs and decorations mimic a storefront, including a yellow sign on the left side that announces a sale with the words "SALE! VALUE!" and a white banner on the right side that reads "GRAND OPENING!".

Three individuals can be seen enjoying their time on the boat. One person stands behind a small counter on the left side, another person in an orange shirt sits comfortably in the middle, and a third person stands near another small counter on the right side. The scenic backdrop of the lake, with its dense greenery and partly cloudy sky, adds to the charm of this amusing floating store.

Reddit users have had a field day with this image. One user humorously commented, "There's two too many people working at that store. Lol." Another shared a personal anecdote, highlighting the omnipresence of Dollar General stores: "My wife and I make a 160-mile trip to see her parents. We stay off the interstate and pass no less than 13 DG stores. That isn't counting the one in my town, and I'm pretty sure that 1 or 2 more have popped up since we last counted."

The humor continues with comments like, "This is why you should pick up any Dollar General bags you see on the ground. If you don't, a store could sprout from it," and "Hey, you can tell it's fake because it's over-staffed." Some users even shared their road trip games involving spotting Dollar General stores, while others expressed confusion or found joy in the silliness of the entire situation.

The Floating Dollar General serves as a reminder to make the best of any situation and find humor in everyday life. It has become a beloved part of the lake's weekend scenery, providing laughter and entertainment for all who encounter it. For those planning a trip "Up North," this unique attraction is a must-see, adding a touch of whimsy to the beautiful Michigan landscape.

Are you sure this is a joke? My wife and I make a 160 mile trip to see her parents. We stay off the interstate and pass no less than 13 DG stores. That isn’t counting the one in my town( we don’t pass it when we leave town) and I’m pretty sure that 1 or 2 more have popped up since we last counted. We were just there last week and we forgot to count.

Hey, you can tell it's fake because it's over-staffed.

On road trips with the kids, we play a little game. Give each of them four or five quarters. When we pass a Dollar General, the person on that side collects a quarter from the other. The game is over when you run out of quarters.

Gotta make the best of what's a really depressing situation, if you think about it. Up North is a nice place to visit...
