The world of artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving, but not everyone is thrilled about it. A popular image on Imgur, titled "Same goes for all of the others," uses characters from the beloved animated TV show "Futurama" to encapsulate the public's mixed feelings towards AI technology, specifically Meta AI.

In this two-panel meme, the first panel features Fry, Bender, and Lrrr. Fry, with his iconic orange hair and red jacket, stands next to Bender, the grey robot with a cylindrical body. Lrrr, the alien with brown skin and sharp teeth, is positioned on the right, donning a purple outfit. The text bubble with the Meta symbol invites users to "Ask Meta AI anything," with the caption reinforcing this by saying, "THAT'S THE META AI. YOU CAN ASK IT ANYTHING."

The second panel takes a humorous twist. It shows Amy Wong, Professor Farnsworth, and Hermes Conrad. Amy, dressed in her pink outfit, stands to the left of Professor Farnsworth, who is easily recognizable by his balding white hair and large round glasses. Hermes Conrad, wearing a green jacket and red tie, stands to the right. The caption at the bottom reads, "ASK IT TO F*** OFF," a sentiment that resonates with many who feel overwhelmed by the AI hype.

User comments on the post highlight a range of experiences and opinions about AI. One developer expressed frustration, saying, "I'm so sick of AI. Everyone in management is trying to push it as it will solve all your problems. It won't. It's just another tool." Another user humorously shared their experience with Snapchat's AI, noting, "First thing I asked the Snapchat AI, but it was apparently offended and said, no can do."

Despite these frustrations, some users have found utility in AI. One comment mentioned, "Gemini fixed a spreadsheet formula for me, but that's as far as I would trust it." Another user shared a cautionary tale, "The only time I used an AI was to ask how to disable it when it appeared on my Windows 11 laptop. It gave me some easy-to-follow steps that disabled it completely. 10/10, would recommend."

The meme and its accompanying comments reflect a growing skepticism about AI's omnipresence in our lives. While Meta is lauded for releasing its work open-source, some users remain wary. One comment pointed out, "Meta is the only one of the large ones that's releasing their work open source, not out of the goodness of their hearts but because their lead designer is passionate about it."

The meme's humorous yet pointed message, combined with the diverse user reactions, paints a clear picture: AI technology, while powerful and potentially useful, is not without its critics. The "Futurama" characters in the meme perfectly capture the exasperation and skepticism that many feel about the relentless push to integrate AI into every facet of our lives.

I'm so f***ing sick of AI. I say that as a developer. Everyone in management is trying to push it as it will solve all your problems. It won't. It's just another tool. It's the equivalent of having an intern that doesn't get context very well.

Meta is the only one of the large ones thats releasing their work open source, it isn't out of the goodness of their hearts but something their lead designer is passionate about (and they need him)

Ask it how many “R”s are in strawberry.

The first time you use it automatically opts you in to it's data farming. Do not type, click or acknowledge the icon in any way.

I am genuinely baffled about why everyone is pushing to shove AI into EVERYTHING. It feels to me like it's the latest crypto / NFT / pyramid scam in the tech sector. The people selling it are just going to take the money and run, when clueless corporate execs demand it, pay for it, but don't actually know what to do with it.

YouTube is now forcing AI into everything as well.

Ask it how for how much longer your work from home job will be viable.
