An amusing video titled "Engineering Game" has captured the internet's attention, showcasing the often humorous gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The video, which has sparked a lively discussion among viewers, features an engineer meticulously planning and executing a pool shot with surprising results.

One viewer shared a fascinating story about their mother, a world-class pool shark from the 80s and 90s. She was nearly banned from a pool hall until the owner proposed forming a women's team with her as the captain. Leading the team to the international championship in Vegas, they secured 12th place, and she achieved 2nd in singles, narrowly missing the top spot due to an accidental sleeve touch.

The video humorously highlights how engineers sometimes fail to account for the practical aspects of their designs, often resulting in unintended outcomes. Comments like "Engineers never account for PEBKAC" and "An engineer's dream project is a technician's worst nightmare" reflect this sentiment.

One commenter noted that the engineer in the video wasn't aiming along the line he had made, suggesting he aimed for the exact effect he got. Another joked, "They stole my 'aim carefully, shoot randomly' technique!" The tension in the video builds up to a predictable yet witty outcome, described as "glorious" by viewers.

Interestingly, an engineer in the comments pointed out a flaw in the design. The trajectory was charted to the edge of the hole, not the center, making failure inevitable even with a proper stroke. This observation underscores the importance of precision in both engineering and pool.

The video also sparked nostalgic and humorous reactions, with one user recalling the importance of chalk lines and another mentioning the classic life lesson of playing the angles. The comments section is filled with witty remarks and shared experiences, such as measuring twice but scratching once and the potential chaos of using string lines in everyday life.

Ultimately, the "Engineering Game" video serves as a delightful reminder of the blend of science and art in practical skills. It also emphasizes that sometimes, despite meticulous planning, the outcome can still be unpredictable and entertaining. Whether you're an engineer, a pool enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys a good laugh, this video is a must-watch for its blend of humor and insight.

My mother was a pool shark back in the 80s and 90s. We're talking world class. She nearly got banned from a pool hall but the owner was like "tell you what, I'll put together a women's team, you join it as the captain, teach the others, and I won't ban you" She did, and she carried the team all the way to the international championship in Vegas. They got 12th place. She got 2nd in the singles and only because her sleeve touched a ball while lining up the shot after the break (she won the lag)

This is how you say "wait for it", by not saying "wait for it".

They stole my "aim carefully, shoot randomly" techinique!

Man thank god for the emojis otherwise I wouldn't be able to read their emotions

This was so obviously gonna happen, but the tension was glorious.

AsI engineer, in around half way point he uses string to chart is intended trajectory, he chart the trajectory to the edge of the hole and not the center. Therefore his design is flawed and made to fail, even if he followed up with a proper stroke.
