High school memories often come with a mix of nostalgia and hilarity, but some incidents stand out for their sheer audacity. A recent online discussion has brought to light a treasure trove of such incidents, with one post in particular catching the attention of Reddit users.

The original post asked, "What was 'the incident' in your high school?" The discussion quickly amassed over 12.2k upvotes and 5.4k comments, with users sharing their most outrageous high school stories. One response stood out, detailing how a principal found weed in the boys' bathroom and called an assembly to vote on who the culprit was. The principal's son received 98% of the votes, leading to the voting system being deemed invalid.

This incident, while amusing, is just the tip of the iceberg. Other users chimed in with their own tales of high school mayhem. One commenter recalled moving their PE teacher's car and hiding it behind bushes, while another described arranging a fake crime scene complete with police tape, fake blood, and chalk outlines. These pranks were so elaborate that the school administration even called the police to check if there was an ongoing investigation.

Another user shared a story from their sophomore year when a principal instated a policy of locking restrooms during recess. This backfired spectacularly when a student, in desperate need, defecated on the principal's office floor. The policy was swiftly revoked, and the incident left a lasting impression on the student body.

One user reminisced about a notorious senior skip day when they and their girlfriend took off to the beach and didn't return for a week. The rumor mill went wild, and even years later, they were recognized for their escapade at a local restaurant.

Some stories turned darker, such as a race riot that occurred each year at a high school in a deprived city area. The introduction of a "Magnet School" program led to a volatile mix of students, resulting in racial tensions and frequent fights.

Not all incidents were pranks or riots. One commenter recalled a time when cheerleaders were caught in a compromising video with the football team, leading to the cancellation of both sports. Another mentioned a high-stakes chess-playing teacher, Arne Vik, who once drew a game against Anatoly Karpov but chose not to pursue fame.

These tales, while varied, paint a vivid picture of high school life filled with memorable incidents, both humorous and serious. They serve as a reminder of the unpredictable and often chaotic world that is high school.

For those who lived through similar experiences, these stories are a trip down memory lane. For others, they provide a glimpse into the wild and unpredictable nature of high school, where anything can happen, and often does.

We moved our PE teacher's car from the parking lot and hid it behind the bushes. And by moved i mean literally bunch of dudes lifted it and carried it about twenty metres. To be fair, it was quite a small car. And later that year we arranged a crime scene in front of the entrance, with police tape, fake blood, chalk outline and a couple of spent casings. The school administrator actually called the police asking if they were conducting any investigation in the area. Ah, fun pre-CCTV times.

I was the incident! My gf in hs and I took off senior skip day and went to the beach a state over and then just, didn't come back for a week. The rumor mill went wild! 2 years later we were at a restaurant and the waitress was like "OMG, are you the two that ran off? People still talk about that! I can't wait to tell my friends you're still together!"

During my sophomore year, the principal instated this stupid policy about locking the restrooms during recess, and one day a kid must have had a very bad case of the runs or something but they just went inside the principal's office while she wasn't there and took a dump on her floor, then used some papers on her desk to clean themselves. They never found out who did it but the policy was swiftly revoked, and the principal got a nasty nickname that we former students still use +25 years later.

A rival high school's jocks once painted their school's mascot's name on our track in motor oil. Apparently it cost a couple hundred thousand to replace that section of the track.

Right after graduation almost every boy in our class got drafted and sent to Vietnam by some b******s named Nixon, McNamara and Kissinger. Most, most got killed. As in dead.

We released three boxes of gold- and black-painted mice in our cross-town school's halls just before zero hour. They retorted by releasing black- and red-painted rats in our school. A good time was had by all.

We had a race riot each of the four years of high school. The school was in the middle of a very deprived portion of the city, and was 100% black students before the school board made it a "Magnet School" to attract top students to go there for their "Pre-Engineering" progrram. I was there the first year where the population became about 50% black students, 45% white, and 5% everyone else (I'm half-Japanese). Stupid racist white kids couldn't help but p*** everyone off and started fights.

Senior/junior played p*** over the video morning announcements... FacStaff member quickly popped up over the PA out of breath telling the school "Teachers.... Teachers please do not... *gasp* Do not turn on the morning announcements..." Even better someone tipped off the local news stations.

There wasn't really one thing. We did move one of the teachers car in between come concrete pillars in front of the school once. One of my teachers was really good at chess. Like, he drew a game against Karpov in 1991, but he only played for fun, so I don't even think he had a Fide rank. His name was Arne Vik. Feel free to reply to this comment if you know anything about him. We asked him once why he didn't try to join a gameshow like Jeopardy, but he joked it away saying it would be too easy.
