In a recent Twitter interaction, a post by Lauren Boebert has ignited a storm of reactions across social media. Known for her outspoken views, Boebert tweeted, "Take your children to CHURCH, not drag bars." The tweet features a profile picture of Boebert standing proudly in front of the US flag, symbolizing her political stance and patriotism.

Not one to shy away from controversy, Boebert’s statement was met with an equally bold reply from The Volatile Mermaid, a popular Twitter user known for her witty and sharp retorts. The Volatile Mermaid, with a vibrant and artistic depiction of a mermaid as her profile picture, responded, "Jerk your boyfriend off in PRIVATE, not in PUBLIC." This pointed comeback quickly went viral, capturing the attention of thousands.

The interaction has spurred a myriad of comments from users, many referencing a previous incident involving Boebert. Users recalled how Boebert was allegedly ejected from a theater for disruptive behavior, which included vaping, taking selfies with the flash on, and being loud. Moreover, it was revealed through security footage that she and her date were behaving inappropriately, even with children present. This incident adds a layer of irony to Boebert’s admonition about appropriate venues for children.

The replies to Boebert's tweet have been a mix of outrage, humor, and criticism. Some users expressed their discontent with organized religion and highlighted instances of misconduct within religious institutions. Comments ranged from concerns about child safety in churches compared to drag bars, to broader critiques of hypocrisy within certain political and religious circles.

One user noted, "Given the fact that infinitely more children were abused by priests than by drags, why would anyone send their children to church?" Another chimed in, "If drag queens m*****ed children at the same rate as clergy, you'd be shot on sight for wearing mascara and heels."

The viral nature of this Twitter exchange underscores the ongoing cultural and political debates surrounding parenting, religion, and public behavior. The stark contrast between Boebert's initial tweet and The Volatile Mermaid's response highlights the polarized views held by many on these topics.

As this interaction continues to circulate online, it serves as a reminder of the power of social media to spark dialogue and bring to light diverse perspectives on issues that are deeply rooted in contemporary society.

I don't have kids, but given how many of those "Not a Drag Queen" posts are featuring priests, no way in hell would I take kids to a church...

Don't forget: she was thrown out for being loud, vaping and taking photos and selfies with the flash on. At a break, she was told to leave and pulled the "don't you know who I am?" card, which didn't work. She then claimed (loudly) that she'd been thrown out because of who she was, not for anything she'd done. The theater had to go and look through the security footage to defend themselves from her lies, and THAT'S how they (and we) found out she and her date were getting handsy with kids around

I know this is TTLY, but when will christians learn that not everyone in this country follows the teachings of their little death cult? I’m normally very respectful of religious folks, because I want them to be respectful of me, but f*** this s***. Atheism and other religions exist. F*** off.

She's running in my district this year, and I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I'll be able to vote against her. On the other hand, it's a really red district, and there's a decent chance she'll win and become my representative.

These people have no class, no shame, no intelligence, no culture, no anything. They are reprehensible wastes of human cytoplasm.

She was going to lose the re-election in her district so she changed districts.

the children have less chances of being m*****ed in a drag bar than in church, and they'll not be brainwashed to believe fairy tales either. win win.

If you've ever actually read the New Testament, the Saviour was usually the most offended by hypocrisy. To sinners and non-believers He would say "Come and see" or "come unto me". Pharisees and hypocrites He would say "woe unto you". This modern Republican behaviour of violently demanding Christianity of everyone else while indulging in every forbidden practice there is, is pretty much blasphemy. Which, if you're actually Christian, should be upsetting enough to vote elsewhere.
