A tweet from Richard Hanania, featuring a factory owner from Springfield, Ohio, has gone viral, shedding light on the exceptional work ethic of Haitian employees. The tweet reads, "Factory owner in Springfield, Ohio says he has 30 Haitian workers and wishes he had 30 more. He says that unlike Americans in the area, they show up to work on time, stay by their machines, and don’t have a drug problem."

The tweet includes a still frame from a video showcasing Jamie McGregor, CEO of McGregor Metal, standing on the factory floor. Jamie McGregor is seen wearing safety goggles and a navy blue polo shirt emblazoned with the McGregor Metal logo. The factory appears well-lit and bustling with machinery and equipment, illustrating a productive work environment.

This tweet has sparked a flurry of comments, many of which echo McGregor's sentiments about the reliability and hard work of his Haitian employees. One commenter shared, "I used to run a restaurant, and everybody complained about the Filipino employees I had. They showed up on time, they never complained, they came in for extra shifts if I asked. They were amazing."

Another user added, "I've said it before and I'll say it again: Don't you think that someone who fought and worked for the chance to build a life in your country would probably love it just as much as you do?"

A former warehouse manager also chimed in, recounting, "I managed a large scale warehouse operation and half of my workforce were immigrants. Everyone got paid the same and they worked twice as hard and never started drama. They were the kindest hardest working people in the facility. The American born people, including managers, were a disaster at least half the time."

The tweet and subsequent discussions highlight the broader conversation about the invaluable contributions of immigrants to the workforce. Comments like, "Immigrants built this country and have greater incentive to do good work than disaffected, under-educated, entitled native-born citizens," underscore the significant role played by immigrant labor in various industries.

Jamie McGregor's praise for his Haitian workforce is a testament to the dedication and work ethic of these individuals, many of whom have overcome significant challenges to build new lives. As one commenter aptly put it, "If a person goes through the hell these Haitians have to escape their collapsing country and travel to a new country, yeah, I bet they are pretty happy to work in a safe, clean environment where they get paid regularly and can live in peace. And good for them. It is a win-win. They get a good life, and Springfield gets good, tax-paying citizens that can help sustain the otherwise dying economy."

The tweet, posted at 5:14 PM on September 10, 2024, has garnered significant attention, with 835 views and numerous interactions, highlighting the ongoing dialogue about immigrant contributions and work ethic in the United States.

I wonder what he pays them compared to Unionized Americans? Could be why he prefers them - more $$$ for him.

Since"Americans don't want to work anymore" how about we make migration easier, safer, and less onerous?

Immigrants built this country and have greater incentive to do good work than disaffected, under-educated, entitled native-born citizens. I speak from the experience of having owned businesses that employed both.

60 year old contractor here: when I was a kid I used to hear some of my dad's friends talk about "lazy Mexicans"; been doing construction for 40 years now and have yet to find a single worker that fits that description

I had my roof done last week. When the crew showed up at first light, was all Hispanic, with a lady foreman, I did an internal "F*** yeah" and knew I didn't have to worry about jack s***.

Have Haitian co-workers, honestly not any harder or worse workers than anybody else but by God do they show up. I mean they are out on occasion for vacation but other than like, the birth of a child, they just don't call out. Reliable af.
