A recent meme has sparked a heated debate online, featuring a sorrowful bear resting its front paws on a log. The text superimposed over the image reads, "I think Punk'd & Impractical Jokers Are horrible TV shows." This statement has ignited discussions about the nature of prank shows and their impact on viewers and participants alike.

The meme has garnered reactions from various individuals who have expressed their thoughts on these shows. One comment reads, "I get secondhand embarrassment from those type of shows so bad that I can't watch them," highlighting the discomfort some viewers feel.

Another reaction points to an incident involving an American video prankster in Australia, who staged a fake assault at an ATM to prove that nobody would intervene. To his surprise, three bystanders immediately started beating him up. This comment emphasizes the potential dangers and unintended consequences of prank shows.

Impractical Jokers has received some defense, as one user commented, "Impractical Jokers is the better of the two, because they're usually the b*** of their own jokes, and just make other people confused. But Punk'd was just terrible." This sentiment is echoed by others who appreciate the lighter and self-deprecating humor of Impractical Jokers compared to the more malicious pranks of Punk'd.

However, not everyone agrees. "Pranks, in general, are low-tier behavior," one user asserts. They argue that deriving joy from another's negative emotions, even mild ones like a jumpscare, is inherently problematic. Another user adds, "I like the silly ones, like putting pencils in someone’s pocket or clothespin balloons on people at the store. It’s extra funny when they raise an eyebrow."

The meme also sparked nostalgia, with some reminiscing about other prank shows like Scare Tactics and Candid Camera. One user even mentioned, "Just for Laughs Gags is a much better show," suggesting a preference for pranks that aim to entertain without causing distress.

The debate extends to the influence of these shows on modern media. One comment highlights the role of Punk'd in launching careers, stating, "Without Punk'd, we don’t get Dax Shepherd, and that would be a shame."

The meme featuring the sorrowful bear has opened a broader conversation about the nature and impact of prank shows like Punk'd and Impractical Jokers. While some appreciate the harmless fun, others criticize the potential for harm and the negative emotions these pranks can evoke. The discussion reflects the varied tastes and sensitivities of audiences, underscoring the complexity of humor and entertainment in the digital age.

There was an American video prankster in Australia who staged a fake assault on an accomplice at an ATM "to prove nobody would intervene" and three bystanders immediately started beating the s*** out of him. Karma.

I think pranks, in general, are s*** tier behaviour. Even among friends who like pranks, it's about deriving joy from the negative emotions of another. Sure, they can be mild, but even just a jumpscare on somebody who hasn't asked for one is still a d*** move.

This would be a confession if you actually liked those shows.

I think Impractical Jokers is the better of the two, because they're usually the b*** of their own jokes, and just make other people confused. But Punk'd was just s***.

I like the silly af ones, like putting pencils in someone’s pocket, or clothespin balloons on people at the store. Or the ones that make people just look at ya weird without bothering them. It takes A LOT to confound New Yorkers. They see some s***. So it’s extra funny when they raise an eyebrow

I dont mind impractical jokers because most of the time they are the punchline of the joke and really don't hurt others or target people as the b*** of the joke. That to me is the difference between a good and bad prank. Prank'd was about being d***s to Ashton Kutchers friends

I hate those less than all the online prank c*** that’s everywhere. I do like watching the pranksters get yelled at though.

I actually loved impractical jokers. The stunts weren't always funny but it was mostly just dumb innocent fun, and the jokes were really on themselves and not on others. Not like that one show on MTV (I think?) where someone was trying to steal some old lady's dog at the zoo or something. That s*** is weak.
