Step into the enchanting world of Ren Faires, where medieval fantasies come alive with fire whips, jousting, and, of course, delectable turkey legs. A recent video titled "Excuse me m'ladies..." captures the essence of a visit to a Ren Faire with a humorous twist.

In the video, a visitor is asked, "Alright, we're at Ren Faire. What are you most excited for? Fire whips? Jousting? Turkey legs?" The unexpected and cheeky response, "T***ies," sets the tone for the lighthearted experience that Ren Faires often provide.

The comments section of this video is just as entertaining as the video itself. One user humorously notes, "So many orb pondering wizards," adding to the whimsical charm of these events. Another comment adds a relatable touch, "Look, I'm trying to lose weight as fast as I can! Y'all stop staring at my man b***s."

Ren Faires are not just about the spectacle; they are a cultural phenomenon. One commenter pointed out an interesting fact: "sca.org was registered in August of 1994," highlighting the long-standing tradition and popularity of these fairs.

While some visitors focus on the light-hearted aspects, others delve into deeper sociological discussions. One insightful comment reads, "The American concept of Ren faire is such an ideologically fascinating one. It alienates history, reframing it into an anachronistic fantasy." This perspective sheds light on how these fairs offer a fantastical escape from historical realities.

For those who have never attended a Ren Faire, the comments provide a glimpse into the diverse experiences they offer. From "travelling performers" to "serious re-enactors," Ren Faires cater to a wide range of interests. A user from the UK poses a thought-provoking question about cultural representation: "In these pseudo European spaces what space is there for different European cultures? Is there any space for Native Americans, First Nations?"

The enthusiasm for Ren Faires is evident, with comments like "Heyyyooooo. Going on in Michigan right now! Gotta get up there," and "I had my booth at Ren Faire this weekend! Great time." These fairs offer a sense of community and fun, as evidenced by the shared excitement and camaraderie among attendees.

Whether it's the thrill of jousting, the allure of medieval costumes, or the simple pleasure of a turkey leg, Ren Faires have something for everyone. As one commenter aptly puts it, "Now I want a turkey leg," capturing the simple joys that these events bring.

For a delightful escape into a world of medieval fantasy, Ren Faires continue to enchant and entertain, offering a unique blend of history, fantasy, and fun.

The American concept of Ren faire is such an ideologically fascinating one. It alienates history, reframing it into an anachronistic fantasy. And with a great reason; history of a state continuously engaging in genocide can not be retold accurately without it becoming traumatic. The US society can not engage in a psychoanalytical process of facing the past of something real. It needs to exist in the capitalist never-now, a hauntological space.

UK here, in these pseudo European spaces what space is there for different European cultures? Is there any space for Native Americans, First Nations? Having never been to a ren faire, are there travelling performers? Serious re-enactors? Are there regional traditions of Ren Faires?
