A recent four-panel comic strip featuring Batman has sparked an engaging discussion on social media. The comic, humorously critical in nature, showcases a conversation between Batman and a middle-aged man with blond hair and glasses, wearing a beige suit with a red tie.

In the first panel, the blond man, with a serious expression, addresses Batman: "Batman, we need a plan for fighting crime and poverty." This sets the stage for a conversation about tackling complex social issues.

The second panel shifts focus to Batman, who, with a determined look, holds a folder or document. Batman confidently replies, "Here's my plan," suggesting he has a solution ready.

In the third panel, the blond man reads the document handed to him by Batman. His expression turns to confusion or disbelief as he remarks, "These are just tax cuts, Batman," indicating a sense of disappointment or frustration with Batman's proposed solution.

The final panel shows the blond man in profile, still holding the document, while Batman is off-screen. This panel has no dialogue, leaving the audience to ponder the implications of the conversation.

The comic, credited to "@glasshouses," humorously critiques the notion of solving intricate social issues with simplistic economic policies, specifically tax cuts. This comic has resonated with many users who view it as a satirical take on current economic debates.

One user commented on a fun fan-story where Bruce Wayne, Batman's alter ego, tries to pay all the taxes he can and influence the government to improve infrastructure, fighting against benefit-the-rich laws. Another user highlighted that Batman, as Bruce Wayne, actually does more for Gotham by giving citizens free medical insurance, investing in the community, and running orphanages and shelters.

The comic has ignited debates on social media, with users discussing various aspects of Batman's character and his approach to philanthropy. Some argue that Batman, in his billionaire persona, should advocate for higher progressive tax structures and focus on social programs to reduce crime and eliminate poverty.

This comic strip serves as a humorous yet thought-provoking critique of the simplistic economic solutions often proposed to address complex social issues. It encourages readers to reflect on the effectiveness of such policies and the roles that wealthy individuals and fictional characters like Batman play in society.

Tax cuts....for whom?

There's a fun fan-story I encountered where Bruce Wayne is actually trying hard to pay all the taxes he can and influence the government to improve infrastructure it's just he has to fight all the benefit-the-rich laws and systems already in place, and his own accountants and lawyers think he's nuts (which helps him seem like a vapid playboy, to them) I like that one In this, he's actually sticking to the normal billionaire behavior and arguing that 'trickle down' will work. Not heroic at all

Going back to older (higher, especially for the rich) tax structures but using the taxes to fund a non-means tested UBI equal to the cost of living would do far, far more for reducing crime and eliminating poverty than any tax cut possibly could. Couple that with using them money left over to invest in infrastructure, improve medical(incl. mental health) access, improve food and education access, and focus on social programs would vastly improve on that and make life better across the board.

The problem with the Boys and it’s “yay they said the F word” viral appeal is everyone keeps Mandela Effecting other existing comics that they’re all like that.

Actual Batman: "Well, that Bruce Wayne guy keeps giving you money to fix the corruption, doesn't seem to be working, maybe we need some kind of a Dark Knight to get at the root of the problem. Plus he provides entry level jobs with decent pay, education, and full benefits to try and give people opportunities. The Thomas and Martha Wayne foundations are running orphanages and free health clinics, and funding scientific research. I'm'a go punch the cabal of elitists called The Court of Owls now."

Hey look! It's another person portraying batman like they want him to be based on what they desperately want him to be to fit their hatred of any rich person, rather than how he's actually presented in any comic or film ever.

This comic sucks. Batman would never do that

Batman actually does MORE for Gotham as Bruce Wayne. He gives all citizens free medical insurance, invests in the community, has orphanages, halfway houses, and shelters. He offers the largest workforce in the city, along with college scholarships and sponsorships. Finally, he tries to help rehabilitated criminals find a real place in the world.

Imgur debating Batman being a billionaire: I AM ENRAGED BECAUSE HE HAS MONEY. I DON'T CARE IF HE DONATED BOATLOADS AND HAD ADVOCATED FOR HIGHER PROGRESSIVE TAX STRUCTURES IN THE COMIC! F*** HIM! EAT THE RICH! Imgur on the street when they meet an actual billionaire: *silence*
