The bond between Paul McCartney and George Harrison, two of the legendary Beatles, was profound and deeply rooted in their shared history. An emotional image recently surfaced on Imgur, capturing a touching memory between Paul and George during the latter's final days. The image, which features white text on a black background, recounts an intimate moment that Paul shared with George when he was very sick.

"The last time I met him, he was very sick and I held his hand for four hours. As I was doing it, I was thinking 'I've never held his hand before, ever. This is not what two Liverpool fellas do, no matter how well you know each other.’ I kept thinking, ‘he’s going to smack me here.’ But he didn’t. He just stroked my hand with his thumb and I thought ‘Ah, this is OK, this is life. It’s tough but it’s lovely. That’s how it is.’ I knew George before I knew any of the others and I loved that man."

This poignant recollection from Paul McCartney resonates with fans and admirers of the Beatles. The image not only highlights the deep friendship between Paul and George but also showcases the softer side of Paul, who has often been perceived as callous and cold. Fans have expressed their emotions in the comments, with one mentioning, "Thank you for sharing this OP. I love Paul. He had a reputation for being callous, cold, and insensitive, so it's good to see his softer side. He wrote a beautiful song for John after he died."

The impact of George Harrison on music and culture cannot be overstated. His contributions went beyond his time with the Beatles, as he embraced Indian music and instruments, organized the "Concert for Bangladesh," and introduced western audiences to new cultural experiences. One commenter poignantly remarked, "George Harrison's impact on culture can hardly be overstated, even beyond the Beatles' time. His embracing of Indian music & instruments, the 'concert for Bangladesh,' and his Hare Krishna entourage & music opened western minds to whole new worlds - before globalization. George was a pure soul, R.I.P."

This image serves as a reminder of the enduring legacy of George Harrison, the soul of the Beatles, whose influence continues to be felt deeply by fans worldwide. It also underscores the importance of expressing love and devotion, even in the toughest of times. As one commenter beautifully put it, "Imagine being able to openly express your feeling of love and devotion without being demeaned for it, and without the stigma of sexual desire that accompany those expressions."

Paul McCartney's heartfelt memory of George Harrison is a testament to the enduring power of friendship, love, and the human connection. This touching tribute will undoubtedly resonate with fans old and new, reminding everyone of the profound impact these musical legends have had on the world.

I can't watch the video for "At The End of the Line" without getting goosebumps at Roy's guitar in the rocking chair and knowing we'd in turn lose George and Tom too.

Watching footage of George's last year, it's clear he knew he was dying. He didn't show it to anyone, but he was having lots of good bye moments with the people close to him. George Harrison's impact on culture can hardly be overstated, even beyond the Beatles time. His embracing of Indian music & instruments, the "concert for Bangladesh", and his Hare Krishna entourage & music opened western minds to whole new worlds - before globalization. Thank you for sharing this OP. I love Paul. He had a reputation for being callous, cold and insensitive, so its good to see his softer side. He wrote a beautiful song for John after he died. I cant remember it now but, i remember it was very lovely and touching. I hope he lives a long healthy life. A friend once described George as a brilliant songwriter, between to geniuses, which I think is perfect. Peace.

There was an interesting study where male friends of different nationalities were observed in a coffee shop setting for how often they touched each other amicably in a long conversation. Latinos were in the hundreds, but British people were at the bottom with 0.
