James Acaster, the celebrated comedian, delivers a sidesplitting performance in his Netflix special "Repertoire," diving into the controversial history of the British Museum. In his unique style, Acaster addresses the age-old tale of Britain's global heist, where artifacts were plundered and hidden in plain sight — a museum.

"A long time ago, but not long enough ago that it's not still very relevant. Everyone in Britain got in a big old boat and we set sail and we robbed, and this will sound far-fetched, everyone in the world," begins Acaster, setting the stage for his comedic critique. He humorously recounts how Britain amassed its "swag" and cleverly stashed it in the British Museum, the last place anyone would think to look.

The modern-day twist, as Acaster points out, is that now these countries want their artifacts back. With his trademark wit, he reassures the audience, "Don't look worried, we're totally staying in a blanket, no. Now, a few of you are sitting there, I can see your angry faces, like, so what? Fighters keepers, shut up!"

The audience's reactions are equally entertaining. One user exclaims, "James Acaster is one of my favorite comedians. I love him." Another adds, "I love this special. His bit about wanting to be an undercover cop his whole life so when he was a kid, when he was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up he'd respond 'drug dealer' so as not to blow his cover is brilliant and funny."

Acaster's Netflix special has garnered significant attention, sparking debates about the ethics of artifact repatriation. One viewer comments, "To be fair, many of those artifacts would have been obliterated without preservation, due to war or political/religious upheaval, or something tragic. That being said, that shouldn't be carte blanche to just keep the objects forever."

The special also highlights Acaster's versatility as a performer. "This is from James Acaster, Repertoire on Netflix. It's super unique because it's actually 4 unique stand-up routines all done back to back on the same day. The guy is a performance machine," notes another fan.

James Acaster's "Repertoire" isn't just a comedy show; it's a thought-provoking performance that cleverly addresses historical and contemporary issues, making it a must-watch. The British Museum may hold countless treasures, but Acaster's comedic genius is priceless.

To be fair, many of those artifacts would have been obliterated without preservation, due to war or political/religious upheaval, or something tragic. That being said, that shouldn't be carte blanche to just keep the objects forever. But on the other hand once again, where are the objects going back to? Another country's musuem, a vault, or some rich f***'s private collection? Hopefully back to the public of the society they belong to.
