A social media post by a user named "penroseparticle" has recently gone viral, delivering a dose of humor and showcasing the power of friendship in the most amusing way. Dated August 21, 2018, the post describes an uproarious anecdote about accompanying a friend who was getting a rib tattoo.

Rib tattoos are notorious for being incredibly painful, and "penroseparticle" narrates how their friend was grimacing and struggling to endure the pain. In a tender act of support, "penroseparticle" reached over to grab their friend's hand, allowing him to squeeze it for comfort. The friend clung to the hand like it was a life preserver, displaying a quintessential example of bro-bonding.

As the tattoo artist continued to work, "penroseparticle" kept the atmosphere light by talking about various nonsensical topics, including Grimace from the McDonald's commercials and R2D2's readiness to "throw hands." The tattoo artist kept glancing over, seemingly entertained or bewildered by the ongoing banter but was reassured to continue his work with the situation under control.

The post has attracted a flurry of comments, drawing comparisons to sitcom scenarios from the 80s and highlighting the importance of communication and positive masculinity. One user shared a similar experience at a tattoo shop, where a humorous misunderstanding about their relationship status led to a memorable exchange with the tattoo artist. Another recounted a night of celebration that ended with two friends sharing a mattress and affirming their platonic bond.

The comments section also touched on the broader theme of normalizing close male friendships and the occasional misunderstandings that can arise from them. One user noted the challenges faced by gay individuals in such situations, while another shared a story of being mistaken for a couple at a Pride event.

This zany post from "penroseparticle" not only provides a good laugh but also reinforces the value of being there for friends, no matter the circumstances. It is a reminder that even in moments of pain and discomfort, a little humor and companionship can make all the difference.

Another problem that could be solved by communication... but this is more fun.

This seems like a scenario in a sitcom from the 80s.

I went with a bro to get a tat. The tattoo artist asked if we were close, my friend and I answered at the same time, "Yes." So during the process the tattoo artist is trying to make small talk or something. They wind up asking, "So, have you two had sex yet?" Now, keep in mind my friend and I are both straight. Our response couldn't have been better if we had rehearsed it. We looked at each other, then to the tattoo artist and in unison we said, "Not yet." It put an end to further conversation.

We should normalize guys being close like this normally

Bro and I got to celebrating his new place a bit too hard and a bit too late, he only had a fridge and a mattress. So after emptying the fridge, we decided to share the mattress. As we are bedding down, back to back,he says "Just to be clear, I'm 100% Straight." I replied "No you're not. Nor am I, but we're both too drunk to consent, so sleep easy friend."

This s*** is why it can sometimes be really miserable to be gay. Because you always have that voice in the back of your head in case someone is about to take exception to your existence, sometimes you end up in situations like this that trigger your fight-or-flight instincts but it's just normal people having a normal conversation. 10 bucks says half the reason the gay dude is alarmed is that straight dudes, even friendly ones, often react poorly to being assumed gay via proximity to a gay dude.

And the friend fully believes he said "boy friend" as in friend who is also a boy and the saga continues

Recently got my first two tattoos. First was tiny and on mah man t** and I barely felt it and was like YEAH LETS DO ONE 5 TIMES BIGGER ON THE RIBS. It wasn't a fantastic idea but I stand by the results
