Shocking Credit Bureau Revelation: More Than Just the Big Three!

A recent video on Imgur has brought to light a surprising fact about the credit space that many people might not be aware of. Contrary to popular belief, there are not just three major credit bureaus that hold all consumer information. In reality, there are hundreds of these ent*****, each containing specific types of data about consumers. This revelation offers a new perspective on how credit information is managed and manipulated.

The video delves into how one can use this knowledge to their advantage. For example, if someone has an eviction on their record, they can request a security freeze from CoreLogic Rental Property Solutions. A security freeze prevents others from accessing your report, which can be beneficial when applying for new housing or credit. However, this tactic has sparked a variety of reactions from viewers.

One commenter, a mortgage loan originator, highlighted that while freezing your credit can be helpful, it also has the potential to cause issues. A frozen report might be considered inaccurate, impacting housing or financing applications. This sentiment was echoed by another viewer who pointed out that no one would accept a frozen report and would insist on unfreezing it.

The video has also spurred discussions about the actual number of credit bureaus. While the video suggests there are hundreds, some viewers argue there are only a few dozen, and freezing your report might not be as effective as it seems. They mention other specialty credit unions like RentBureau, SmartMove, RealPage, Yardi, Tenant Data, and NTN that still retain vital information.

Interestingly, the discussion veered into various unrelated yet intriguing facts shared by viewers. One user mentioned a medical lab fact about how a tightly tied tourniquet can falsely indicate a heart attack in blood tests. Another noted that it takes about 30 months for a single question to appear as a scored item on a standardized test.

Additionally, insights from different industries were shared. A former telecom employee revealed that upgrade fees could be waived, and major cell phone towers often have diesel-powered backup generators. A former Sears HQ employee shared an insider fact about Sears and K-Mart's ownership through hedge funds.

The video has certainly sparked a wide array of conversations and brought to light some lesser-known facts about the credit industry. While the primary focus was on the numerous credit bureaus and the tactic of freezing reports, it also highlighted the diverse knowledge and experiences of its viewers.

For those interested in the intricacies of credit management, this video serves as a fascinating starting point. Whether you're looking to freeze your report or simply learn more about how credit information is handled, the discussions around this video provide valuable insights.

Was there really a need for two sets of captions for the same dialogue?

Useless info. No one is going to accept a frozen report and will definitely insist that you unfreeze it.

Hi everyone! As a mortgage loan originator I work with credit and credit repair daily. Putting a freeze on your credit is helpful but can also prevent you from obtaining housing/financing etc because your report would not be considered “accurate.” If you really want to do this, there are plenty of non-profit advocacy groups that can help

The cistern on a toilet contains less water than the pan can hold in a single flush. Provided you don't flush twice you're OK.

There are not 300, there are a few dozen. Also I don't understand the point of freezing your report if you are applying for a place? No one is going to go "Whelp, I can't see evictions or past renting history for this guy so heck, let's just give him the place!". Most would just deny you, or ask you to contact CoreLogic to remove the freeze lol. Plus, there are still other specialty credit unions that still contain the info, such as RentBureau, SmartMove, RealPage, Yardi, Tenant Data, NTN etc.

1) Medical lab fact: I know that doctors can be fooled into thinking that someone is having a heart attack on a routine blood test (the sort ordered all the time, like after an annual physical), if the tourniquet is tied too tight or left on too long while a phlebotomist or nurse draws your blood. See, if the tourniquet is too tight or left on too long, then you start getting the destruction of red blood cells. Red blood cells contain large amounts of potassium, much more potassium than

I worked at Sears HQ in Hoffman Estates IL for a year in the IT/compliance areas. Sears did not own K-Mart. K-Mart owned Sears through a series of hedge funds and ultimately hedge fund mismanagement that primarily benefited the top execs while s******* most of the store workers and the HQ office people.

It takes a single question about 30 months to go from first draft to appearing as a scored item on a standardized test.

I worked for a major US telecom for 10 years: upgrade fees CAN be waived, any manager can do it most major cell phone towers usually have massive diesel-powered backup generators Verizon has these cool trucks with big motorized, deployable antennas that they can roll out to disaster areas, big gatherings of people, desert concerts, anywhere you need temporary phone service. They daisy chain to the nearest tower. buy your phone full price from the manufacturer, never finance through carrier
