In a recent video, an important yet controversial topic was brought to light regarding debt collectors and the legal protections available to consumers. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) maintains a list of banned debt collectors, which includes hundreds, if not thousands, of companies and individuals who are prohibited from collecting debt in the United States of America. This list is a vital resource for anyone facing harassment from debt collectors.

The video emphasizes the importance of being aware of this FTC banned debt collectors list. By simply Googling "FTC debt collectors list" or "banned debt collectors list," individuals can access this comprehensive list and check if any of those banned ent***** have been bothering them. Such knowledge is crucial as it enables consumers to be protected under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

The FDCPA is a federal law that provides consumers with certain rights and protections against abusive debt collection practices. If a banned debt collector is found to be harassing you, the FDCPA ensures that you have the legal right to stop this harassment.

Interestingly, the video has sparked a variety of reactions. One user shared a personal experience where their boss intervened when a debt collector called their workplace, effectively putting an end to the harassment. Another user raised a concern about banned debt collectors simply changing their names to continue their operations. This suspicion was echoed by others who noted that some companies regularly change ownership or incorporate new ent***** to evade these bans.

One comment highlighted the ease of checking the number of ent***** on the list, noting that there are hundreds rather than thousands. Another user shared their frustration with receiving early morning calls from a debt collector attempting to reach their brother, eventually resorting to blocking the number and using the Do Not Disturb feature on their phone.

While some users criticized the video for its handheld camera quality and urged people to seek advice from knowledgeable sources, others saw the value in boosting the video's visibility to raise awareness about this crucial issue. A European user humorously commented on the prevalence of debt collection calls in the United States, while another shared their experience with a parking ticket that had been sold to a collection agency, which subsequently changed its name.

The video serves as a reminder that consumers should be vigilant and informed about their rights under the FDCPA. By checking the FTC banned debt collectors list, individuals can protect themselves from unlawful harassment and take appropriate action if they find themselves targeted by these banned ent*****.

What are the odds you'd get a banned debt collector? I'd assume they'd go bankrupt pretty quick if they're not allowed to operate. No?

This needs serious boosting

Nobody can harass you at work, period. One of my bosses took a call like that on my debt, he pulled me aside and honestly talked to me about my situation, and led with "just so you know that is unacceptable and I told them to never call again. Obviously I don't care. I'm just telling you that I have your back and letting you know that they tried and I told them to f*** off."

What if they just change their names to something else?

InfocalypseRising

I strongly suspect half of that list is just the same people operating under different names every time they get "banned."

Let's get this to the FP!

"hundreds, if not thousands" it's really easy to check if it's hundreds or thousands.

I keep getting calls at 8:39am from a debt collector that is trying to get ahold of my brother. I tried to talk to someone the first time but it hung up on me before it connected me to a person. I just block them now and turn on my Do Not Disturb on my phone.

People, stop listening to people with s***ty handheld camera work on TikTok. They're not going to use one of these companies, they'll just encorporate a new one. You're always covered under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If you have debt problems go ask someone with some actual knowledge, not someone one TikToc saying "you might be shocked".
