In a recent Twitter post, user Maxine Marie, known by the handle @NyghtSymphony, shared a humorous yet relatable image from "The Simpsons." The post features Lisa Simpson standing on a stage, pointing to a presentation screen with the text: "Stop making so many multi-player games. I don't like people." This sentiment resonates with many gamers who miss the immersive experience of single-player games like Bioshock and Deadspace.

For those longing for the deep narratives and atmospheric gameplay reminiscent of Bioshock and Deadspace, here's a curated list of similar single-player games that will keep you hooked until after midnight:

Story/atmospheric FP games? Prey (2016) and the Dishonored games (same dev, similar games but different settings)- fantastic story, super fun gameplay. Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Mankind Divided was also okay). Black Mesa if you haven't already played HL1. Metro 2033 is old and janky but still fun nonetheless. (I also recommend the book if you like to read.) Spec Ops: The Line for a devastating narrative hiding behind a war shooter. If you tell me more about what you like, I can recommend more!

Best single player game I've played in years and years is Subnautica. Best since half life 2.

Both Horizon games, Zero Dawn and Forbidden West are very good. Also Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal. Also Mad Max. Rage 2. Supraland and the sequel Six Feet Under. Journey to the Savage Planet. Control. Cyberpunk 2077. Deathloop. Slime Rancher 1 and 2. Stray. The entire Serious Sam series. The Talos Principle 1 and 2. I could probably go on.

Baldur’s Gate 3. Yes, it does have multiplayer, but it is 100% a single player game. I’ve got over 500 hours in, and never once played online.

Imgur seems to be stuck in 2016, because there are plenty of single player games these days.
