Dragon Ball Z has been a cornerstone of anime culture since its inception, and the iconic theme song from "Wayback in 1998" continues to evoke strong emotions among fans. The video on Imgur showcases the powerful theme that many fans remember vividly.

One user enthusiastically declared, "hell yeah brother, I'm on the Freeza arc for the 200th time now :D," highlighting the show's enduring appeal. Another user perfectly captured the sentiment by stating, "Don't even need to unmute. The theme song played in my head."

Interestingly, some fans expressed surprise about the differences in theme songs between regions. "Decades after finding out and I'm still kinda weirded out that this is what USA got as the theme song instead of Cha-La Head Cha-La," one commenter noted. For those seeking a humorous take on the series, another user recommended, "Anybody who needs a refresher on that but wants the funnier edgier crib notes version should check out Dragon Ball Z abridged."

The video not only brings back memories but also sparks debates and discussions among fans. One amusing comment read, "Wayback in 1998? Wayback? What do you even mean? That's only like 10 years ago!" Others shared personal anecdotes, such as a user who reminisced, "Some idiot named Collier had this as his alarm while deployed. He wouldn't ever turn it off. It'd just ring and ring until it turned off on its own."

The global reach of Dragon Ball Z is evident, with one fan sharing, "In Canada, we pronounced it Dragon Ball Zed." Another fan praised the series, saying, "I'll still go back and watch through, from the original Dragon Ball all the way up through Super. It's a fun setting, ludicrously ridiculous. It's basically anime pro wrestling in that the characters are waaaaay over the top, the story writing isn't always the greatest, and the art and voice acting is questionable sometimes, but the total package is greater than the sum of its parts."

The video also sparked curiosity among viewers about where to watch Dragon Ball Z nowadays, with one user asking, "Where can one watch Dragon Ball Z nowadays??" The humor of the series was also highlighted with a joke: "How many Dragon Ball Z characters does it take to screw in a light bulb? 1. But it takes like 13 episodes."

Despite varying opinions on the theme music, one fan acknowledged, "Even though I like to play the 'purist' and watch with original Japanese music, the American track by Bruce Falconer really slaps when it needs to. Definitely got a lot of American kids into the fandom." The theme song's impact was so profound that some could hear it without even playing the video, as stated by a user, "I can hear this even on mute."

The passion for Dragon Ball Z remains strong, with fans recalling running around their living rooms during the opening theme music, hoping to emulate the strength and power of the characters. This video is a delightful trip down memory lane, reminding fans why Dragon Ball Z has remained a beloved part of their lives for decades.

Some idiot named collier had this as his alarm while deployed. He wouldn't ever turn it off. It'd just ring and ring until it turned off on its own. He also vaped late into our sleep schedule with a mod that would whistle. We worked nights and slept during the day. I hated him so much.
