In a recent viral sensation, a popular internet meme featuring the famously grumpy cat has taken the internet by storm. The meme humorously highlights Tesla's significant profit drop in the second quarter, which plunged more than 40%.

The image showcases the grumpy cat, known for its mix of brown and white fur with distinct dark brown patches around its eyes, enhancing its perpetually displeased expression. The cat's ears are perked up as it looks straight ahead, delivering a perfect visual punchline to the overlaid text.

At the top of the image, bold capitalized text reads: "TESLA PROFIT IN THE SECOND QUARTER PLUNGED MORE THAN 40%". Below the cat's face, the text simply states: "GOOD", capturing the sarcastic and humorous tone that aligns with the cat’s grumpy visage.

This meme surfaced amidst growing discussions about Tesla's challenges and CEO Elon Musk's leadership. Comments on social media reflect a mix of reactions, from criticisms of Musk's management to concerns about the electric vehicle market's future.

One user remarked, "There is the missed promises by about 5 years on the robotaxis, the roadster promised in 2017, a cheaper 25k car promised 4 years ago, the models that haven't seen an update in years except moving all the controls to the touchscreen.... Even without MAGA Karen there just isn't a reason to choose them over other electric cars." Another commented, "Tesla is now getting closer to normal profitability for an automaker. Their profits and stock prices the last few years were insanely high for an automaker. The EV market overall is in turmoil."

The meme also sparked debates about Tesla's market strategy, with one user sarcastically noting, "Tesla, the 'My Pillow' of the auto industry." Another user humorously added, "Good thing the shareholders voted to give him that ridiculous compensation package. Worth every penny."

This grumpy cat meme not only serves as comic relief but also as a reflection of public sentiment towards Tesla's recent financial performance and Elon Musk's leadership. With the electric vehicle market in flux, the meme's popularity underscores the broader conversation about sustainability, innovation, and market dynamics in the automotive industry.

For those following the latest trends in the EV market and Tesla's journey, this meme offers a lighthearted yet poignant commentary on the challenges and perceptions surrounding one of the industry's most prominent players.

Well, there is the missed promises by about 5 years on the robotaxis, the roadster promised in 2017, a cheaper 25k car promised 4 years ago, the models that haven't seen an update in years except moving all the controls to the touchscreen.... Even without MAGA Karen there just isn't a reason to choose them over other electric cars.

shifting your target audience to hard line republicans who think electric cars are a threat to the american lifestyle was a brilliant move

Tesla is now getting closer to normal profitability for an automaker. Their profits and stock prices the last few years was insanely high for an automaker. The EV market overall is in turmoil. There's a price war going on. Which is good for new buyers, but horrible for people that bought their car a few years ago and need to sell. The secondary market is an absolute mess right now.

Maybe they need to claw back that bonus

For some reason, people don't want to buy cars from a white supremacist and Apartheid Nepo Baby.

What would have been good is if Musk was s***canned as CEO. I'm not liking this downward trend of EV sales, though. Though that's mostly because they need to get cheaper, the charging network needs to grow (Pete's on that, thank goodness), and EV credits need to roll out again, but for the working class. Here's hoping President Harris pushes a lot of good changes for the EV market!

I wouldn't support a car made by a racist in 1938, nor 2024.

GreenFox

Turns out people who appreciate the mission of electric cars don't wanna dive a Muskmobile.
