In a recent revelation that has sent shockwaves across the education sector, an image circulating on social media highlights the potential drastic changes to student loan payments under Project 2025 associated with Donald Trump’s presidency. The image, set against a gradient blue background, carries a stark warning: "Have student loans? Your monthly payments could triple under the plan in Project 2025, which would phase out existing income-driven repayment plans and eliminate loan forgiveness programs. Page 341."

This revelation has sparked heated debates and concerns among students, educators, and financial experts alike. The proposed changes under Project 2025, which aims to dismantle current income-driven repayment plans and eradicate loan forgiveness programs, could have far-reaching implications for millions of Americans burdened with student debt.

One user shared a personal experience, stating, "My roommate got $60,000 of student loan debt forgiven and still can't admit that the democrats ever did anything good because he's a conservative." This comment underscores the deep political divide and the impact of partisan perspectives on the issue.

Another user pointed out the broader implications, "The main reason for this goes back to the Reagan administration. Keeping education out of the hands of the less wealthy means that only the wealthy can afford an education." This comment highlights the long-standing efforts to reshape the educational landscape in favor of the affluent.

The concerns are not limited to the potential financial burden. One commenter expressed their fears succinctly: "As someone that's working to get their major in education, that whole page fills me with dread. The possibility that I could be trapped paying my student loans UNTIL I RETIRE makes my blood boil."

The debate also touches on broader societal issues. Another user remarked, "If they could, the Project 2025 people would very happily give cancer back to survivors just to say 'So and so didn't survive it, why should anyone else?'" This hyperbolic statement reflects the intense emotions and perceived injustices surrounding the proposed changes.

Despite efforts by Donald Trump to distance himself from Project 2025, stating, "I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it," the connections between the plan and his administration remain a topic of scrutiny. Critics argue that this plan is part of a larger agenda that could have severe consequences for access to education and financial stability for future generations.

As the discourse continues, one thing remains clear: the proposed changes under Project 2025 have ignited a critical conversation about the future of student loans and the broader implications for education and economic equality in America. Voters are urged to consider these factors carefully as they head to the polls, recognizing that the decisions made now will shape the landscape of education and financial health for years to come.

I would once again ask that we consider - and publicize - that project 2025 is not “trumps” - but comes along with him and will regardless be pushed as part of the republican agenda. We’re not voting for Trump or Biden, we’re voting for fascism or a future of laws and equal rights and if both of those candidates dies tomorrow this will still be the case.

Trump has tried to distance himself from the whole thing. "I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it," he wrote. "I disagree with some of the things they're saying," he continued, adding some of their assertions were "absolutely ridiculous and abysmal." Which is pretty odd considering so much of it was written by people so close to him. Doesn't add up.

The main reason for this goes back to the Reagan administration. Keeping education out of the hands of the less wealthy means that only the wealthy can afford an education. Poorer people will learn enough to function and no more. The wealthy, and traditionally conservative, will be best placed to hold jobs that shape society. VOTE!

That bottom paragraph also is concerning because it seems to be leading up to an excuse to break up teacher unions. As if teachers in the US aren't already paid the absolute bare minimum.

That would cost me $300k I'd have forgiven in 3 years. No amount of tax break is going to make that up.
