At the age of 12, Chris Samnee, a young boy from De Soto, Kansas, was already making waves with his artistic talents. A newspaper clipping featured in a recent Instagram post by "chrissamnee" brings this poignant moment to life. The post showcases a youthful Chris, gleefully holding up his detailed rendition of Batman. The setting, a room adorned with art supplies and a desk lamp, speaks volumes about his early dedication to his craft.

The headline of the newspaper article, "De Soto boy drawing up career plans," penned by Jane Goddard of the News-Democrat, highlights Chris’s aspirations. Even as a young boy, Chris was channeling his inspiration into sketches, laying the groundwork for a future in the art world.

Fast forward to today, and Chris Samnee is living his dream. In a triumphant Instagram post, Chris announced an exciting collaboration with renowned writer Mark Waid and colorist Mat Lopes. The caption brims with excitement, as Chris expresses his joy and eagerness to share this dream project with the world.

The post has garnered significant attention, amassing 1,942 likes, including a nod from the account "gibsonagogo." Admirers and fellow artists alike have flooded the comments with praise and anecdotes. I worked w a guy named (Tyler Walpole, I think), he was chasing his dream. He'd send drawings and (colorings?) in to the comic book company and they'd send back notes. "Work on this" "Work on that". He'd do stuff (on break, after close, all the time) over blue pencil (for some reason). Maaaany years later he was a featured artist at the local Comic-Con. I thought... "H********! He did it!" Shout out to all the Olive Garden workers that moved up :)
