In a recent social media exchange, users shared a nostalgic yet powerful message inspired by the iconic film characters Bill and Ted. This conversation struck a chord with many, addressing the often harsh self-judgments that society imposes on individuals. The interaction, featuring users "wh***eyoueventhough," "foone," and "teaboot," reminds everyone to embrace their true selves and reject negative self-perceptions.

User "wh***eyoueventhough" recounted a dream where they met Bill and Ted. In the dream, they complimented Bill's crop top but expressed insecurity about wearing one due to feeling "bogus" about their body. In a inspirational response, Bill reassured them by saying, "what’s truly bogus is the way you think about yourself," with Ted nodding solemnly in agreement. This dream highlights a critical message about self-acceptance and the importance of positive self-talk.

The conversation continued with user "foone" posting an 8-bit style image of a young man with the same uplifting message in a speech bubble: "WHAT'S TRULY BOGUS IS THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT YOURSELF." This visual representation further emphasized the theme of self-love and rejecting societal pressures.

User "teaboot" added to the conversation by simply stating, "That was the real bill and ted," suggesting the timeless wisdom of these fictional characters.

The thread sparked various reactions from other users. One user suggested bringing back the term "bogus" to describe the current state of societal standards, while another shared their personal struggle with body image and societal expectations, exclaiming "BOOOGUUUUS!!!" as they realized their health metrics were perfectly fine despite feeling pressured to conform to unrealistic norms.

Another user quoted a memorable line from the show "Beavis and B***-Head," reminding everyone that self-worth starts with internal affirmation: "Repeat after me: I Am Somebody."

Comments praising the latest installment of the "Bill and Ted" series echoed the sentiment that the movie, much like the social media posts, continues to spread a message of positivity and self-acceptance.

"Dude, you are most excellent," one user concluded, encapsulating the spirit of the conversation.

This exchange underlines the enduring impact of Bill and Ted's philosophy: Be excellent to each other—and to yourself. Embrace individuality, reject negative self-judgments, and remember that what truly matters is how one perceives oneself.

I vote we bring back 'bogus' as an everyday term. Especially now that things are truly bogus. Second?

FauxFoxPaw

I can totally see that.

What is also bogus is what society has instilled in us. Today in fact i got hold of a fat-measuring-calliper. I am average weight. WTF?? average? when by social norms at 160cm and 66kilos with huge hips I am a FAT COW. BOOOGUUUUS !!! endocrinologist declared my weight/height ration FINE, my bloodwork excellent, and my fat ratio fine. I was to "lose weight only if you want it but you are HEALTHY". We look in the mirror and indoctrination kicks in "fat cow fat hips, fat cow b**********" BOGUS!

So honestly... Bill and Ted 3 was pretty decent. Not spectacular, but neither were the originals. And they actually did /the thing/.
