In an electrifying announcement from Detroit, President Joe Biden has unveiled a set of ambitious objectives for his final term, outlining key reforms he aims to achieve within the first 100 days. The announcement was made via a tweet from the handle @errinhaines, belonging to Jawn Staley. The tweet, which features various emojis including a horse, a happy emoji with sunglasses, an American flag, and a peach, has amassed 116K views since it was posted at 7:54 PM on July 12, 2024.

The tweet encapsulates Biden's plans, which include:

- Making Roe v. Wade the law of the land

- Signing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act

- Expanding Social Security and Medicare

- Ending medical debt

- Raising the federal minimum wage

- Renewing the ban on assault weapons

- Making the child tax credit permanent

The reactions from the public have been mixed, with some users expressing skepticism about the feasibility of these plans without substantial support from Congress. One commenter pointed out, "Reminder that he can only do this with enough support in the Senate and House as well. Voting is so incredibly important anymore; we're well past the point where we can take any election, any time, any place, for granted."

Another comment emphasized the importance of Congress in realizing these goals: "Not Biden. Congress. Not the President. Congress. Not the executive branch. CONGRESS. THEY MAKE THE LAWS."

Despite the mixed reactions, many supporters are rallying behind Biden, underscoring the necessity of a Democrat-led Congress to achieve these reforms. "We HAVE to give Biden a Democrat led congress. Vote blue all the way down the ticket," urged one commenter.

The announcement also evoked historical comparisons, with one user recalling, "Numbers 1, and 3-7 were all platform pieces in the Obama first and second election as well as in the Biden first election. Not one of them was accomplished and some weren't even attempted."

The broad scope of Biden's plans has sparked a lively debate about the role of the executive branch and the legislative hurdles that lie ahead. As the nation gears up for the next election cycle, the conversation around these proposed reforms is likely to intensify, making this a pivotal moment in American politics.

Why doesn’t he do all that now? I don’t fully understand how government works so I’m seriously asking.

He’s been president for three and a half years. If he actually cared about those things he would’ve done them in his first two years when there was a Democratic house and senate.

We need to pick up the house and pick up a couple seats in the senate because there are 3 or 4 Democrats who won't let the filibuster get tossed. We need to vote blue no matter who all down the ticket.

That's nice. In reality, without getting supermajority control of both the senate and house, that's all nothing more than a pipedream. Not to mention a rogue supreme court that'd probably block a ton of these just because. That's something that would have to overcome as well.

I watched this Detroit rally live, it was wild. After Biden called trump a LOSER the crowd started chanting "LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP!" and it kept happening throughout the speech, and it made my night. Biden was great, honestly

I remember talking about candidates with a coworker leading up to the 2000 election. He said "what is Biden's plan though? What is he going to fix?" So I showed him Biden's campaign site, which contained several detailed pages of Biden's plans. Their ignorance is willful.
