The year 2020 was marked by a global pandemic that changed lives forever, and Richard Rose's story is a stark reminder of the consequences of underestimating COVID-19. This composite image tells a short but powerful story of hubris and its fatal aftermath.

In the top left screenshot, Richard Rose made a defiant statement on Facebook on April 28, declaring, "Let make this clear. I’m not buying a f***ing mask. I’ve made it this far by not buying into that damn hype." This post was set against a dark blue background with diagonal lines, reflecting his strong stance against wearing masks.

Fast forward to June 13, and Richard Rose checked into Put-in-Bay, South Bass Island, OH. He responded to a comment from Cay Beaver with, "it’s not that packed lol," showing a photo of a crowded pool area filled with people. His casual attitude towards the crowded environment highlighted a lack of concern for the virus.

By July 2, Richard Rose's tone had changed dramatically. In another Facebook post against a similar dark blue background with diagonal lines, he wrote, "This covid s*** sucks! I’m so out of breath just sitting here." His words conveyed a sense of desperation and the reality of the virus****ting home.

The bottom right screenshot is an obituary announcement. It solemnly lists "Richard Rose, III Obituary" with the option to "View More Obituaries" at the top. Below, a photo shows Richard Rose smiling, wearing a baseball cap. The dates "July 25, 1982 - July 4, 2020" beneath his name mark the sad reality of his passing. The emblem or badge in the background is partially obscured, adding a layer of poignancy to the image.

Comments on the post reflect a range of reactions. One user on r/hermancaineawards remarked, "F*** around and find out hit pretty during peak covid," emphasizing the harsh lesson learned. Another comment read, "Moral of the story is: don't be a d***, Rose," pointing to the social responsibility ignored.

The story of Richard Rose serves as a powerful lesson in the importance of taking health advisories seriously. His tragic journey from skepticism to suffering and ultimately death on July 4th underscores the devastating impact of COVID-19 and the peril of ignoring public health measures.

Wild how many people posted their ignorance and how it led directly to their deaths. Mostly Conservatives; the only loss was the other folks they killed by spreading COVID.

He died on the 4th of July? There's about a 50% chance it was fireworks related.

“View more obituaries.” Don’t mind if I do.

Willsmileforfood

Is it bad of me not to be sad for him? He most likely infected others before he died.

It’s just suicide with extra steps.

"It's all a hoax!" "These people are just actors!" "It's just the flu!" "People die all the time!" Yea, and the flu decimated entire villages and towns killing tens of millions before we even understood it. But explaining to people who think themselves as medical professionals has about as much usefulness as f***ing a brick wall.

As a Lib Cuck, I feel very "owned" right about now. Guess I'll go breathe some oxygen and cope.
