I'm close friends with someone who works at a community foundation that supports local charities and they've worked with Taylor Swift. I don't think it's a male vs female thing. Nobody becomes that rich in business without exploiting the people beneath them, but it's different for entertainers. Zero entertainers are in the top 500 richest people on the planet, but if you look at philanthropy they're very heavily represented.

I’ve got nothing against her personally. I certainly can’t say what her motives are. But philanthropy has long been a way for rich people to make themselves look like good people — no hardship for them, because they can easily afford it. Frankly, I don’t like the way that many in society view entertainers, athletes, billionaires, etc., as some sort of avatars or living saints, not in a world where public school teachers have to spend a portion of their own meager wages to buy school supplies.
