If you've ever doubted the affectionate nature of cats, prepare to have your mind blown. A viral video making the rounds on social media has captured the hearts of cat lovers everywhere, proving that our feline friends are capable of showering us with love and affection.

The video, titled "So many people say cats aren't affectionate," features a affecting scene that showcases the undeniable bond between a human and their cat. In the video, a person can be seen gently stroking their cat, who reciprocates the affection by rubbing against their hand. It's a simple gesture, but one that speaks volumes about the love and trust that can exist between a cat and their human.

The video has garnered an outpouring of responses from viewers who have experienced similar displays of affection from their own furry companions. One commenter astutely points out that people who claim cats aren't affectionate simply haven't spent enough time earning their trust. Cats are complex creatures, and it takes time and patience to build a bond with them. Once that bond is formed, however, cats can become incredibly affectionate and can't bear to be ignored.

Another commenter highlights the importance of understanding a cat's boundaries and consent. Cats are known for their strong sense of personal space, and if their boundaries are not respected, they will make it known. It's crucial to approach cats with respect and give them the space they need to feel comfortable and loved.

But it's not just the affecting moments that have captivated viewers. The video also sparked some lighthearted comments, with one person jokingly exclaiming, "Get off the effing counter!" Clearly, cats can be mischievous and have their own unique ways of showing affection.

The video also touched on the longing for closeness, with one commenter confessing, "And now I'm crying because I haven't had that level of closeness in far too long." It's a reminder of the emotional connection that can be formed between humans and cats, providing comfort and companionship during lonely times.

In the midst of all the heartfelt comments, there were also some humorous observations. One commenter couldn't help but wonder, "What is he cutting?" - a lighthearted comment that added a touch of comedy to the video.

It's clear from the overwhelming response to this video that cats have a special place in our hearts. Whether they're snuggling up on our chests while we scroll through Imgur or demanding attention with their adorable antics, cats have a way of making us feel loved and cherished.

So the next time someone claims that cats aren't affectionate, show them this video. It's a testament to the love and affection that cats are capable of, and a reminder that those who doubt their affection simply haven't been lucky enough to experience it themselves. Cats are more than just independent creatures - they are loyal, loving companions who bring joy and warmth into our lives.

If a person doesn’t like or understand cats it’s a red flag for me. Cats are big on consent, and if you don’t respect their ‘no’s’ they will say them in harsher ways. While there are a huge variety of personalities, if you consistently only have negative experiences with cats, that says something bad about you- not cats.

Get off the effing counter!

It's because they usually haven't been around any one cat long enough to earn its trust. Cats are complex. Around a stranger most are only comfortable with those who ignore them (they see them as safe). Once a cat trusts you though, they are the opposite and often can't stand being ignored.

Cats are also extremely communicative, most people just don't know how to interpret them when they're expressing themselves.
