Have you ever been in a situation where you were asked to sell something completely out of context? Well, in this viral video titled "Sir, this is a marker," a comical sales interaction unfolds between two individuals, leaving viewers in stitches.

The video begins with one person challenging the other to sell a pen. However, things take an unexpected turn when the second person points out that the item in question is actually a marker. Undeterred, the challenge continues as the first person requests the sale of the marker instead.

With a touch of wit and sarcasm, the second person questions why they should sell the marker if it's not something the customer needs. They highlight the importance of only selling products that are genuinely beneficial to the customer. As the conversation progresses, it becomes evident that the first person's intention was to test the sales skills of their counterpart.

The exchange becomes increasingly amusing as the second person refuses to engage in the sale of an unnecessary item. They emphasize the value of believing in the product you are selling, as taught by their father. However, the first person grows impatient, dismissing any further discussion about family or unrelated matters.

The video concludes with a humorous twist as the first person, clearly unsatisfied with the outcome, demands the marker back. In a final comedic reveal, the second person affirms that the item in question was indeed a marker all along, not a pen.

Upon reading the comments, it's clear that viewers found this video highly entertaining. One user hilariously commented, "I guess it's true what they say, 'a marker is mightier than a pen!'" Another user applauded the second person's refusal to sell a product that the customer did not genuinely need, stating, "This is a prime example of ethical salesmanship!"

In a world where sales tactics can often be pushy or manipulative, this video serves as a lighthearted reminder of the importance of authenticity and integrity in sales interactions. It's a humorous portrayal of the absurdity that can arise when a simple request becomes a lesson in salesmanship.

So the next time someone asks you to sell them a pen, remember this video and the valuable lesson it imparts. Believe in what you're selling, only offer products that serve a genuine purpose, and never underestimate the power of a marker disguised as a pen.

If he wants the marker at the end, sounds like a good time to sell it to him.

Now he's got him on the ropes, he really wants that pen (marker) back now so it's all up to price negotiation from here.

Is this even a sales position?

I’ve always hated ambush style questions like this in interviews. Look, to a degree I get the premise… If you’re applying for a sales job, you should be able to sell. But at the same time, within that job you’re going to have a much better understanding of your product, you’re going to understand your targeted customer base, and their need for the product. Just being told to “sell me this“ is a f***ing horrible interview, tactic, and it shows a lack of care or imagination from the manager.

C.M.O.T. Dibbler rolling over in his grave, the idea of NOT selling somebody a thing that they don’t want/don’t need!? Preposterous

I actually had a customer who expected me to do this once. I worked at a little watch store, and this guy comes in, and he picks out a watch, and I let him see it, and he was all "why should I buy this watch from you?" Apparently, "well, because you want a watch" was the wrong answer, and he did this over and over again, basically challenging me to talk him into a sale. It was surreal.
