Trump Teases VP Pick at Phoenix Rally

Former President Donald Trump, a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, made a significant appearance at Dream City Church in Phoenix, Arizona, on June 6, 2024. During his speech, Trump hinted that his vice-presidential choice might be among those he met with recently, stating that the announcement would likely come during the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee from July 15 through 18.

This article is the sixth in a series of profiles on potential running mates for Trump in the upcoming election. High on the list of potential VP picks are Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Sanders, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum. Trump’s campaign has formally requested vetting documents from Vance and Rubio earlier this month.

Sen. J.D. Vance has been actively involved in efforts to block President Biden’s nominees and is seen as a key figure in flipping working-class Democrat voters in battleground states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin—states that were crucial in Trump’s 2016 victory but flipped to Biden in 2020. Vance’s blue-collar upbringing, detailed in his 2016 memoir "Hillbilly Elegy," resonates with voters in these key areas. GOP strategist Matt Wolking, who served as deputy communications director for Trump's 2020 campaign, praised Vance’s poise and precision in media interviews and his strong connection with blue-collar voters.

However, Vance’s limited experience—having only 18 months in elected office as of June 2024—and his anti-big business inclinations could be potential drawbacks. Despite these concerns, Vance’s popularity among Trump’s base and his frequent appearances with Trump on the campaign trail make him a strong contender.

Another prominent figure in the VP race is North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum. Kevin O'Leary, a well-known entrepreneur, has publicly endorsed Burgum, praising his execution skills and track record in North Dakota. O'Leary highlighted Burgum’s successful efforts to build North Dakota’s sovereign wealth, making its citizens some of the richest in the country. Burgum’s pro-business, pro-growth, and pro-innovation stance aligns well with Trump’s agenda. Described as non-partisan in his approach to building the American economy, Burgum’s ability to work across party lines could be a significant asset.

Trump has yet to publicly disclose his vice-presidential choice for the 2024 ticket, but his recent hints and the formal vetting process of candidates like Vance and Rubio suggest that an announcement could come at the RNC convention in July.

Conservative Bias:

Well, folks, here we go again. Former President Donald Trump is making waves with his potential VP picks, and you know what? The liberal media is already sharpening their knives, ready to tear down anyone who stands with Trump. J.D. Vance, a man who has the audacity to challenge Biden’s disastrous nominees, is a top contender. Of course, the left will try to paint him as inexperienced, despite his deep connection with blue-collar voters—voters who are sick and tired of the Democrats’ elitist, anti-American agenda. And then there's Doug Burgum, a governor who has transformed North Dakota’s economy, making its citizens some of the wealthiest in the country. But watch out, because the liberals will dismiss his achievements and try to smear him as another puppet of big business. The truth is, anyone Trump picks will be a target for the radical left, who can't stand the idea of America-first policies making a comeback.

Liberal Bias:

Here we go again, folks. Donald Trump is parading around potential VP picks like J.D. Vance and Doug Burgum, and it's a clear sign of the Republican Party's desperation. Vance, with his scant 18 months in office, is being touted as some kind of working-class hero, but let’s not forget his anti-big business rhetoric that could spell disaster for an already fragile economy. And then there's Burgum, who is being sold as a pro-business miracle worker, but let's call it what it is: another attempt to line the pockets of the wealthy while the middle class suffers. Trump and his cronies are gearing up for another round of divisive, fear-mongering politics, and the American people deserve better than this charade. The GOP is once again showing its true colors: out of touch, self-serving, and utterly incapable of moving this country forward.
