Top House Republicans Issue Criminal Referrals Against Hunter and James Biden

In a significant political move, top House Republicans have issued criminal referrals against Hunter Biden and James Biden, accusing them of making false statements to Congress. The referrals, directed to Attorney General Merrick Garland and special counsel David Weiss, were signed by House Oversight Chair James Comer, Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan, and Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith. House Speaker Mike Johnson supported the move, urging the Attorney General to open investigations to demonstrate impartiality in the justice system.

The letter accuses Hunter and James Biden of making false statements to hinder the investigation into President Joe Biden. Both Hunter and James Biden had participated in hours-long depositions in February before the Oversight and Judiciary committees, where Hunter stated that his father was not involved in his business dealings. Despite this, Republicans allege that Hunter falsely distanced himself from a corporate entity receiving foreign money and made misleading claims about his business role.

Among the claims, Republicans highlighted a document signed by Hunter Biden indicating he was the corporate secretary of Rosemont Seneca Bohai, contradicting his deposition statements. Additionally, the letter references records suggesting Hunter made a threatening WhatsApp message to a Chinese businessman, implying his father's potential retaliation. James Biden also denied that his brother met with Tony Bobulinski in 2017, a claim contradicted by Bobulinski and Hunter Biden.

Hunter Biden's attorney, Abbe Lowell, dismissed the referrals as a desperate attempt by Republicans to twist Hunter’s testimony, while James Biden's lawyer, Paul Fishman, described the move as a baseless partisan action. Rep. Jason Smith asserted that IRS whistleblowers' testimony indicates Hunter Biden lied to Congress three times during his deposition.

The criminal referrals come amid Hunter Biden's trial in Delaware for three felony charges related to a 2018 gun purchase. His attorney criticized the referrals as a Republican strategy to distract from their failed impeachment inquiry and interfere with the trial. Despite extensive investigations, no official acts of corruption by President Biden have been uncovered, as emphasized by Rep. Jamie Raskin.

As the 2024 White House election looms, these proceedings have become a significant political and personal liability for President Joe Biden, who is deeply concerned about his son's health and sobriety. The Justice Department is not obligated to act on the referrals, and the White House has declined to comment on the allegations. NBC News has reached out to the Justice Department for further comments.

Conservative Bias:

Well, here we go again, folks. The liberals are at it once more, twisting the facts and shielding their precious Biden family from accountability. Top House Republicans, in a bold and necessary move, have issued criminal referrals against Hunter and James Biden for making false statements to Congress. These two have been dodging the truth, lying about their shady business dealings, and trying to protect the Big Guy—Joe Biden himself. The evidence is clear: Hunter Biden lied about his involvement in foreign money schemes and even sent threatening messages to Chinese businessmen, hinting at his father's power. Yet, the liberal media and their allies dismiss these referrals as desperate attempts. No, this is about justice and holding the Bidens accountable for their corruption. The Democrats are in panic mode, trying to distract the public from the real issue at hand—Joe Biden's compromised position and the lies that run through his family. The Justice Department needs to act, but we all know the liberals will do everything to protect their own. It's time to wake up and see the truth, America!

Liberal Bias:

Once again, we see the Republicans engaging in their favorite pastime: baseless witch hunts and political grandstanding. In a desperate and transparent move, House Republicans have issued criminal referrals against Hunter and James Biden, accusing them of false statements to Congress. This is nothing more than a partisan attempt to deflect from their own failures and distract from their disastrous impeachment inquiry. Despite hours of depositions and extensive investigations, there's no evidence of corruption by President Joe Biden. Yet, the GOP clings to conspiracy theories and unfounded claims. They highlight irrelevant documents and misleading messages, trying to fabricate a scandal where none exists. This is classic Republican strategy—attack the family of a sitting President to gain political advantage as we approach the 2024 election. Hunter Biden's legal troubles are being exploited shamelessly by the GOP, who care more about scoring political points than the truth. The Justice Department should not be swayed by these partisan tactics. It's high time the Republicans stop this charade and focus on real issues facing the nation instead of perpetuating their baseless vendettas.|
