In a controversial social media post on June 6, 2024, Hillary Clinton commemorated the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France. The former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate wrote on her X account, "Eighty years ago today, thousands of brave Americans fought to protect democracy on the shores of Normandy. This November, all we have to do is vote." This statement drew immediate and strong criticism from conservative circles.
US WWII veterans had gathered in Sainte-Mere-Eglise, France, on June 5, 2024, to mark the historic event that was a turning point in World War II and led to the liberation of Europe from N*** Germany. However, Clinton's comparison of voting to the sacrifices made by soldiers on D-Day was seen as deeply disrespectful by many conservatives.
RedState writer Bonchie labeled Clinton's post as "Just pure evil," accusing her of equating the heroic sacrifices of WWII veterans with the act of voting against Donald Trump. Similarly, radio host Dana Loesch criticized Clinton, alleging that she was attempting to undermine the sacrifices of WWII veterans by her association with Fusion GPS during the 2016 election cycle.
Moreover, "Ruthless" podcast host "Comfortably Smug" did not hold back, calling Clinton a "shameless, broken, lizard person" in response to her post. Combat veteran and author Sean Parnell also expressed his disdain, feeling that Clinton's comment cheapened the sacrifices made by those who fought in WWII.
This backlash is not new for Clinton, who has previously compared Trump to Adolf Hitler. In a May 21 post on X, she referred to Trump as "Grifter Hitler," reacting to an article about a video on Trump's Truth Social account that mentioned a "unified R****." Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung dismissed Clinton's comments, calling her a "stone-cold loser" and suggesting that she is trying to stay relevant after her 2016 election loss.
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, Democrats, including President Biden, have labeled Trump as a threat to democracy, a sentiment echoed by Clinton in her posts. Recent polls indicate that voters find President Biden more trustworthy than Trump on issues of election integrity and protecting democracy, although Trump leads on matters such as the economy, border and immigration, and crime.
Hillary Clinton's recent activities, including attending the Broadway opening of "The Wiz" and hosting an exclusive fundraiser for President Biden, show her ongoing involvement in political discourse. However, her D-Day post has ignited a fierce debate, underscoring the deep divisions in the current political landscape. A spokesperson for Clinton did not respond to requests for comment regarding the backlash over her post.
Conservative Bias:
Hillary Clinton's latest stunt on social media is a disgusting display of liberal arrogance and disrespect. On the 80th anniversary of D-Day, instead of honoring the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our freedom, she had the audacity to equate their heroism to the mere act of voting. This is typical of the radical left, always trying to manipulate and cheapen our history for their twisted political agenda. Conservatives are rightfully outraged, as Clinton's post is not just tone-deaf but an outright insult to our veterans. This is the same woman who has repeatedly shown her disdain for American values and now tries to stay relevant by making inflammatory comparisons. Her desperate attempts to vilify Donald Trump and sway public opinion are nothing but a sad reflection of her failed political career. The liberal media might try to defend her, but the truth is clear: Hillary Clinton will stop at nothing to undermine the sacrifices of real American heroes for her selfish political gain.
Liberal Bias:
Once again, the conservative outrage machine is in full swing, this time taking aim at Hillary Clinton for a perfectly reasonable social media post. On the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Clinton drew a parallel between the fight for democracy then and the importance of voting now. But of course, the right-wing echo chamber exploded, twisting her words to manufacture another scandal. It's no surprise that the same crowd who downplays the January 6th insurrection and idolizes a president who cozies up to dictators would find a way to attack Clinton for encouraging civic participation. The vitriol from conservative pundits is not about respect for veterans; it's about stoking their base's irrational hatred for Clinton and distracting from their own failures. In their world, any opportunity to bash a prominent Democrat is fair game, no matter how absurd the premise. This faux outrage is yet another example of how the right will distort any message of unity and democracy to serve their divisive agenda.
