GOP-Linked Group Runs Ads Supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

A newly established political action committee, SAG PAC, is making waves with its recent advertising campaign promoting Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a candidate in the 2024 presidential race. According to a Federal Election Commission filing, SAG PAC was founded in June, and while it has yet to disclose its donors, the organization has already spent over $137,000 on Google platforms to run YouTube ads.

Describing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a "pro-choice" and "progressive Democrat," the ads highlight his commitment to restoring abortion rights at the national level and his long-standing record in support of abortion rights. The cheerful tone and color scheme of the ads are a stark contrast to the contentious political landscape they enter.

SAG PAC’s bank account is with Chain Bridge Bank, a financial institution known for its Republican affiliations, including past banking for former President Donald Trump’s campaigns. The PAC’s treasurer, Charles Gantt, is a familiar name in Republican circles, holding the same position for various PACs supporting GOP candidates.

The ads are concentrated in five swing states, intensifying the battle for voter support in the 2024 presidential race. This strategic move raises questions about its potential impact on Democratic candidate Kamala Harris’ base or former President Trump’s supporters. Notably, Kennedy has a history of fluctuating stances on abortion; last year, he initially told NBC News he would sign a ban on abortion after 15 weeks, only to later reverse his position. In May, Kennedy's running mate, Nicole Shanahan, was surprised by a comment he made regarding abortion on a podcast, where he stated that abortion should be legal until a certain number of weeks, after which it should be restricted. Kennedy emphasized the rights of a viable baby outside the womb.

Kennedy’s campaign is currently on the ballot in 13 states, and he recently secured a spot on the Nevada ballot after election officials verified over 22,000 signatures, well above the required 10,000. This verification came amid a legal battle with state and national Democrats, who challenged Kennedy Jr.'s standing on the Nevada ballot as an independent. The lawsuit was based on his affiliation with political parties and a state requirement that independent candidates must name their running mate at the start of signature collection. Despite these challenges, Kennedy Jr. selected California lawyer and philanthropist Nicole Shanahan as his running mate in late March.

Polling indicates that Kennedy is drawing support away from both major parties, with some surveys showing him taking more from Trump and others indicating a greater impact on Biden's support. In a CBS News interview, Kennedy claimed he is pulling more support from Trump than from Democrats.

Rahna Epting, the executive director of MoveOn, criticized the digital ads supporting Kennedy as a desperate attempt by Trump allies. Nevertheless, Kennedy's campaign continues to gain traction, leveraging his famous name and loyal base to challenge the dominance of Republican and Democratic candidates in U.S. elections. As both parties strategize to mitigate his impact, the 2024 race promises to be one of the most unpredictable in recent history.

Conservative Bias:

Well, folks, here we go again with the liberals trying to manipulate the political landscape to their advantage. This time, they've got their hands all over Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a so-called "pro-choice" and "progressive Democrat." It's laughable how these leftists are desperate to sway the 2024 election by running ads in swing states to fragment the voter base. The fact that Kennedy has flip-flopped on abortion more times than a fish out of water shows just how unreliable and inconsistent he is. But of course, the liberals love it because it gives them another pawn to play with. And don't even get me started on the Democrats' legal battles to keep him off the Nevada ballot. Typical leftist strategy: if you can't win fair and square, litigate until you get your way. This is nothing but another scheme by the Democrats to undermine both Trump and any other Republican candidate. The hypocrisy is staggering, but what else is new?

Liberal Bias:

Here we go again with the Republicans pulling their dirty tricks to disrupt the democratic process. This time, they've created a PAC with clear GOP ties to prop up Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in a desperate attempt to fracture the Democratic vote. It's a classic conservative move: when you can't win on your own merits, you resort to subterfuge and manipulation. The fact that Kennedy is being used as a pawn by these right-wing operatives is disgusting. They know his inconsistent stance on abortion will create chaos, and they're banking on that to weaken the Democratic base. The Republicans are so terrified of losing to Kamala Harris or any other Democratic candidate that they're willing to throw their own principles out the window. And let's not forget the legal wrangling in Nevada, where Kennedy's candidacy faced opposition from Democrats who are rightly concerned about the integrity of the election. This is just another example of the GOP's willingness to undermine democracy for their own gain. It's pathetic and dangerous, and it shows just how low the Republicans are willing to go to cling to power.
