Biden Locks Down Democratic Nomination

As the Democratic National Convention draws closer, President Joe Biden has secured a near-total sweep of convention delegates, with a commanding 99% already pledged to him after locking up the nomination on March 12. Despite dropping out of the presidential race, former candidate Dean Phillips will see at least three Ohio delegates supporting Biden at the convention, following his endorsement of the President.

The stringent party rules have made it nearly impossible for any other candidate to receive the nomination, with Biden being the only one surpassing the required 300-delegate support threshold. This has led to activists in several states to vote "uncommitted" in protest of Biden's handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict, managing to win 27 delegates. However, this movement faces challenges, as seen in the Ohio primary on March 19 where “uncommitted” wasn’t even a ballot option.

In Pennsylvania, the “uncommitted” protest continues, but the Ohio Democratic Party is grappling with delegate allocation issues. Since Phillips' campaign did not submit a delegate list, it's unclear if his qualified delegate slots will be filled. Bill DeMora of the Ohio Democratic Party clarified that any delegates qualified by Phillips would ultimately vote for Biden, aligning with the Phillips campaign’s encouragement for their Ohio delegates' support.

President Biden's stance on Israel has sparked criticism, particularly among the Morehouse College community, which he is scheduled to address on May 19. An online letter from alumni condemns the invitation to Biden, criticizing his approach to Israel as being contrary to Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy of pacifism. Despite the backlash, the college stands by its invitation, highlighting that the decision was made before the recent conflict.

Amidst the political turmoil, Biden's job approval among Black adults has dropped significantly from the 94% at the start of his term. Progressive voices have accused him of excessive support for Israel, while his administration has been quick to criticize civilian deaths in Gaza. His precarious political standing is seen as a potential risk in key battleground states, which could be pivotal in future elections.

Nonetheless, the Biden administration has focused on policy achievements that resonate with the Black community, including heightened federal support for historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), student loan forgiveness, and increased Pell Grants. These policies are particularly significant for Black college students, who rely heavily on these sources of financial aid.

As Biden prepares to address Morehouse College, an institution with a potent legacy and part of the larger Atlanta University Center, the significance of the Black vote remains clear. With Georgia's tight election margin in 2020 and the essential support in metropolitan areas of battleground states, the administration cannot afford to lose the backing of these crucial constituencies. Senator Raphael Warnock, a Morehouse alumnus, has expressed his enthusiasm for Biden's upcoming visit, underlining the importance of the President's engagement with the Black community and HBCUs at this critical juncture.

Conservative Bias:

Ladies and gentlemen, what we have here is the absolute highjacking of the Democratic process by the left-wing establishment. Joe Biden, the so-called "unifier," has effectively silenced any form of competition within his own party, demonstrating the utter contempt the liberal elites have for democracy and the will of the people. They've rigged the game, folks, ensuring that no other candidate could even dream of challenging Biden's iron grip on the nomination. And let's talk about the audacity of the Biden administration, arrogantly dismissing the concerns of the very communities that put him in office. Biden's abysmal handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict has rightfully sparked outrage, especially among the principled members of the Morehouse College community who see through his betrayal of Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy. But what does the Democrat machine do? They double down, ignoring the plummeting approval ratings among Black voters who are waking up to the fact that Biden's policies are all talk and no action. This is a man who will pander to radical progressives while turning his back on American values and allies. It's a clear message to the heartland of America: the Democrats don't care about your voice unless it serves their political agenda.

Liberal Bias:

Here we have yet another glaring example of the GOP's relentless obstructionism and fear-mongering. President Biden, despite the incessant attacks from the right, has been a beacon of progress and unity, securing the Democratic nomination in a show of overwhelming support. Yet, what does the conservative media focus on? A small faction of activists who, rather than rallying behind the President in a time of crisis, choose to sow division and discord. And let's not forget the blatant hypocrisy of the Republicans, who cry foul over Biden's foreign policy when their own track record is a litany of war-mongering and international disdain. The criticism from Morehouse alumni is a convenient distraction for the right, who would rather pit Americans against each other than address the systemic injustices that Biden is actively working to dismantle. Meanwhile, Biden's approval ratings among Black adults, although they've seen a decline, are a testament to the relentless smear campaign by conservatives who are terrified of the advancements for communities of color under this administration. The President's policies have been a lifeline for HBCUs and the Black community, yet the right-wing media will never acknowledge these strides towards equality and empowerment. As Biden prepares to speak at Morehouse College, his commitment to civil rights and social justice rings truer than ever, in stark contrast to the conservative agenda that seeks to undermine the very fabric of our diverse nation.
