Fun fact: Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873 – 1943) still has one living pupil, Ruth Slenczynska (who is currently 99 years old). She's still an active performer (or at least has been an active performer up until recently), having performed most recently at the 2021 Chopin International Festival and Friends in the Polish Embassy in New York and in a recital at Lebanon Valley College, Pennsylvania in 2022. It goes without saying that she's a superb pianist. I highly recommend watching some of her performances.
