In a touching act of kindness, a 14-year-old Utah teen made headlines by giving every girl in his school a Valentine's Day chocolate to remind them that they are "special and unique." This sweet gesture was inspired by his awareness of the high rates of depression among young teen girls.

The image, shared by ABC News on Facebook, captures the essence of this compassionate act. Two teenagers, a boy and a girl, stand side by side in front of what appears to be a school wall. The boy, holding a pink heart-shaped box adorned with stickers, beams with sincerity, while the girl, her arm around his shoulders, smiles warmly at the camera.

This remarkable act occurred in 2017, with the boy distributing chocolates to all 537 girls in his school. Despite the large-scale effort, no group photos exist of him handing out the chocolates, except for this candid shot. Interestingly, the chocolates were generously provided by Hershey, allowing the boy to spread joy without financial burden.

Comments on the post reflect a mix of admiration and skepticism. One user noted, "that's a lot of money," while another praised the teen, saying, "Good kid." However, some expressed doubts about the impact of the gesture, with one commenter stating, "If I were depressed and someone gave me something that they gave to everyone, it wouldn't do much for me."

Despite the varied reactions, the teen's initiative stands as a testament to the power of small acts of kindness. It underscores the importance of mental health awareness and the difference one person can make in combating depression and fostering a sense of belonging.

This story resonates deeply, especially in a time where mental health is a critical issue. It serves as a reminder that even simple gestures, like giving chocolates, can have a profound impact. This young boy's actions exemplify a compassionate approach to addressing the emotional well-being of peers, making the future seem a little brighter with kindness like this.

This kid: "I heard people get sad so I'm going to do something to help" Half the people in this comment section: "You did it wrong. You are either a pervert or an idiot."

Ohdearaudrey

Some extra information: He got the chocolate for free from Hershey This was in 2017 This is a weird one though, no photos exist of him with anyone getting chocolate other than this one posted. There is a photo of him at a chocolate distribution center, and a picture of all the candy, but no one thought to take a picture of a group of people with the chocolate.
