A recent video titled "Best smile" has sparked a lively debate among pet enthusiasts. The video features a Schipperke, a breed known for its energetic and curious nature, with the owner repeatedly asking, "Are you smiling, itty itty smiling girl, are you smiling?"

The video has garnered mixed reactions from viewers. Some users, like one who commented, "Schipperkes are the best!!" express their love for the breed, while others are skeptical about the dog's emotional state. One user remarked, "That dog looks super nervous rather than smiling," reflecting concerns about misinterpreting animal behavior.

In contrast, another viewer provided a detailed interpretation, noting, "While there is submission, there is zero fear- even wild canids like wolves do this display when they are VERY happy." This comment highlights the complexities of interpreting canine body language and stresses the importance of context.

The video has also elicited responses from those who caution against anthropomorphizing pets. One comment reads, "People need to stop trying to imprint human s*** on animals that don't express things that we do, like smiling. This dog is scared or very nervous." This perspective underscores the need for pet owners to educate themselves on the unique ways animals communicate.

Despite the differing opinions, the video has a universal appeal, capturing the attention of dog lovers and sparking an important conversation about pet behavior. One user summed it up nicely, saying, "Itsa smiling," while another simply called the dog "Sweetheart!"

The Schipperke in the video may be displaying a range of emotions, but one thing is certain: this little dog has brought a smile to many faces, whether through joy, concern, or curiosity. Viewers are encouraged to watch the video and decide for themselves, all while learning more about the fascinating world of canine communication.

Reposting because I see "THIS IS FEAR" on these posts: While there is submission, there is zero fear- even wild canids like wolves do this display when they are VERY happy, and animals that have never been harmed once in their life will display this to their absolute favorites. Other body language helps add to the contex: while we can't see the tail, the dog's exposing their throat and leaning back a little instead of cowering, and they're not shivering. The dog is completely blissed out.

Mega uncomfortable dog, though. I'd just leave her be for a bit.

That’s definitely not the body language of a happy dog. People need to learn how to read their own pets’ body language d*****.
