A "family member" is a known abuser. At 30+ years old, I finally told my parents I wouldn't be here and neither will my daughters if he showed up. He's no longer coming and I think my mom is handling the backlash. I told my dad it's messed up that it's even an option for him to come. I'm done feeling like an 8 year old and my dad and husband support me 100%. My therapist is going to be proud of me too.
